Welcome to my Website!

Hello and a big warm welcome to my beautiful, brand new website. To say I’m over the moon with my site would be an understatement……lots of hours have been spent creating the perfect look and feel for my site and I think this is reflected in the final product. A huge thank you to Jo, my web designer who has the patience of a saint, and has put up with my endless “…. I’m not sure that looks right there…”, “……. can we try this instead?” and the classic “…. I think it was better the way it was before….”. What can I say, I’m a venue dresser and that’s how I work…. constantly moving things around until I get it exactly right! But we got there in the end and I am so grateful to Jo for understanding my vision and getting it on the screen.

So here’s a little bit about me and why I decided to set up Event Styling by Amy Victoria…..after finishing my degree I spent 13 years in the corporate world. I worked predominantly in HR training, where I found my strengths lay – with people, places, and personal but professional contact. I loved dealing with people and setting up training sessions and events but deep down something was missing to give me that real drive and passion for work. After two children and years of my husband constantly telling me to set up my own business, I decided to go for it! I set up a little business called Completely Sweetly, providing sweet cart hire for events and weddings across Birmingham and the West Midlands.

 

 

I soon picked up the pace and started to add to my collection of hire items. After 6 months of trading, I was offering such a wide variety of wedding prop hire, as well as chair cover hire (including hundreds of sash colours and styles)… it seemed like I was adding to my collection on a weekly basis! At that point, I realised the company name just didn’t suit my business anymore so I decided to rebrand, which was when Event Styling by Amy Victoria was born!

 

 

At the same time, I also made the huge decision to leave the corporate world and ‘go it alone’ as my business had expanded and developed faster than I could ever have dreamed of. I just couldn’t do both anymore…..one of them had to go and I haven’t looked back since! So here I am, completely at your service and totally loving what I am doing, which I hope is reflected in the work that I do.

 

 

Now I am ‘live’ online I intend for my website to be as active as possible. I will be adding lots of images to my gallery so you can see all the weddings, parties, and events I have worked on, and I will also be posting regular blogs (hopefully weekly!). My aim is to keep you as up to date as possible with my stylings and allow you to get a feel for who I am as well as my style and the passion I have for the work I do. I will also be adding hints and tips on how to create that perfect party room and chat about my bridal consultations so you can see how I build relationships with my clients to ensure I create the perfect styling for their special occasion.
