Last month I had the pleasure of styling a beautiful wedding at the Champagne Bar in the iconic Cube building in the heart of Birmingham.
The bride had a clear vision of what venue décor she wanted for her room and came to our consultations with images and ideas of the styles of chair and table décor she liked. Straight away she was decided on candelabras for her centrepieces. She wanted to create a classic and elegant wedding with a little bit of sparkle added in.
With this brief in mind we decided to add some décor to the candelabras rather than leave them bare. I chose string pearls and crystals and added some artificial roses onto the top of each candelabra as the final finishing touch to the centrepieces. The centrepieces looked really effective and fitted in perfectly with the room and it’s décor.
The tables were finished off with a grey/silver satin runner and a lace runner over the top, glass tealight holders and scatter crystals.
For the chair décor the bride was a little undecided and we went back and forth with a few ideas and options, until I showed the bride an image of some gorgeous grey lace chair sashes with strands of silver in them. She fell in love with them and once they were added onto the chairs they looked stunning against the white chair covers
The room was finished off with my white Victorian post box and rose trees placed at either end of the top table.
The finished room looked amazing and matched the brief of the classic and elegant style the bride wanted to achieve. At one of our first consultations the bride mentioned having my starlit back drop in the room, however, when I found out the wedding venue, I advised her against it, and I am so glad I did. As I stood back and looked at the fabulous back drop of Birmingham city centre created by the floor to ceiling windows of three sides of the room it would have been such a shame to cover any of that up, especially at night time with the city lights and stars!
