As my business becomes more estabished I have noticed that I am receiving an increase in queries for venue dressing for corporate events. This is an area of my business that I really enjoy, as much as I love weddings it is nice to be able to step outside of my comfort zone and work on some thing completely different.
Balloon Decor
Most corporate events are a celebration of the company and it’s employees and have more of a party feel to them. This environment makes balloons a very popular choice for decoration and my favourite style to use are the giant 3ft balloons, Many corporate events are held in large spaces and can take the grandeur of these balloons. The come in a wide range of colours to match corporate branding and I always like to accessorise them with décor on the ribbon, such as tassels and bunting.
Balloon décor are great for corporate table décor, but they are very diverse and can be used as general decoration around the room to fill in any gaps or empty spaces and also make great décor for entrances. Using a number of these giant balloons lined along a red carpet makes a great walk way for guests and adds that little bit extra to the entrance way for guests.
Add in Some Light
Another popular choice for corporte decor is the use of lights. Adding lighting to tables is great for dinner and dance events as it is suitable to have on the tables throughtout the meal and also creates a party atmospher for later on in the evening. I like to use a range of lights and holders as this gives a variety of shapes and shades and breaks up the repetitivness of a long tressel table.
A Pop of Colour
This style is really effective in large rooms with many tables, as you can see in this image. The décor fits in well with the table settings and over style of the room, but when the lights go down and the table lights are on they really stand out in. Also adding a pop of colour in the room is great to break up the standard black or white linen that comes with corporate events. It also gives the client an opportunity to use their branding colours and shades.
Use a Theme
If you want to be a little more flamboyant in your venue dressing then feathers are a great material to use. I used feather based centrepieces for a Bollywood themed event a few years ago. These were placed in giant martini glasses with wire lights to add some extra lighting to the tables. Along with the colour scheme of orange and purple these really did stand out and make a impact aginst the white backdround of the marquee.
The Luxury Feel
It’s not just weddings that can have chair décor, adding chair covers and sashes for a corporate event is also a great way to add more decoration into the room and add some colour. Here is an image of a corporate event I styled using red ruffle hoods. The company wanted a high end luxury feel for their event using their branding colours. Once decorated the room was bright and bold and set the tone for the event for an evening of dinning and entertainment clients and celebrating a company’s achievements.
Black Chair Covers
Another popular choice for corporate events is using a classic black and white theme. Using black table linen instead of white is great for evening events as it set the tone for an evening event and party environment. Adding chair sashes to the black covers breaks up the plain covers. Adding a coloured sash will really stand out on the black chair covers and have an eye catching effect in the room.
