In February this year I had the privilege of providing chair and table
décor for a beautiful Valentine’s day wedding. The venue was at the stunning
Rowton Castle in Shrewsbury, which is a venue I have never visited before, so
I am always excited to go somewhere new!
The lovely bride, Fiona, found me through my Facebook page about 18
months before, and we chatted over messenger for a few weeks and she then came
to visit me at a local wedding fayre. It’s always so nice to meet my clients in
the flesh and I find that through face to face meetings I get so many more
details from my clients, which really does help the service that I can provide.
I worked closely with the bride on the chair décor and the table
centrepieces. The colour scheme for the wedding was orange but we didn’t want
it to be too bright and dominate the overall style of the room. After providing
a few options Fiona decided on white lace chair sashes for her ceremony room
and wedding breakfast room. These sashes are always a great option for couples
who want a subtle and classic look or are struggling to match a sash with their
chosen wedding colour. The neutral white means no colour clashes, but the lace
details adds a texture and subtle detail to the chairs.
For the centrepieces, Fiona wanted something with height as the venue
is very grand and has tall ceilings. After sending some options over Fiona fell
in love with the white tree centrepieces, I have provided for previous weddings,
but she wanted a different style of décor on them. We decided on blossom, which
I personally dyed a burnt shade of orange to fit in with the wedding décor and
added on some hanging glass baubles for the final finishing touch.
The overall look of the centrepieces was stunning and the bride and
groom were delighted with the final look of the wedding breakfast room.
I was so happy to hear from the bride and groom that the weather was so
beautiful that they were able to get married in the grounds outside the castle.
The chairs I decorated were left in the wedding room, but the rose trees were
moved to the outside aisle and they really were a beautiful finishing touch to
the outside area.
This wedding was a real favourite of mine as I got to work closely with
the lovely bride helping and guiding her on her wedding décor choices and was
able to make some bespoke centrepieces to fit in perfectly with the wedding
colour scheme.
