My first wedding of 2018 was at the end of March. The weather has not been very kind to us so far this year, so I was very happy to pull up on to the drive of the beautiful Somerford Hall in Stafford to clear, dry skies (although it was very cold)! The lovely bride, Kate, had booked with me over a year before her big day when we met at a wedding fair. Kate already had a very clear vision of what she wanted for her wedding room and had been in touch with me prior to the wedding fair to discuss white tree centrepieces. When I met Kate at the wedding fair I had my tree centrepiece on display, so she could see it in ‘real life’ and get an idea of how they would look on her wedding tables.
I worked closely with Kate on the build up to her wedding day making samples of the white tree centrepieces, which I photographed and sent images over to Kate, to ensure they were perfect for her big day. The colour scheme for the wedding was purple and Kate wanted the colour added onto the trees but not too heavily decorated. We opted for small purple flowers and butterflies to be placed on the tree along with purples and hanging glass baubles with a few diamantes hanging from the trees to give that extra sparkle. On the day the trees looked stunning with all 6 dressed on each table and two added to the top table. As the wedding room was mainly white, the purple on the trees and the purple satin table runners really stood out and gave a crisp, elegant feel to the room.
Kate also wanted a table plan and I suggested creating one to match the white tree centrepieces. I have never provided this style before, but it worked perfectly with each table plan hanging from the tree which was covered in matching décor to the centrepieces. The table plans, table numbers and favours were all provided by the very lovely and talented Kate from Simply Favours. I also provided a sweet cart and post box for the wedding, which were decorated in matching décor.
Even though it was a lovely bright day it was very cold and the weather was very unpredictable with rain threatening to start, so I provided some small gyp sprigs for he beautiful ceremony room inside the hall.
I absolutely loved the overall look of this wedding room. The white tree centrepieces are a great alternative to flowers if you are looking for something a bit different for your décor. They are also very versatile as they can be stripped back with minimal décor or heavily decorated to give a more dramatic effect……..the choice is yours!
