My First Photoshoot!

This weekend was super exciting for me as I got to be involved in my first wedding photoshoot! For some years now a listed building in my local area has received funding for a major refurbishment, and when I heard that a local photographer had set up a team for a wedding photoshoot I just had to get in touch to see if I could be part of it in anyway. Luckily, the lovely Sam from Rose and Rainbow Photography said yes and I was able to provide wedding decor for the stair case as well as chair covers and sashes for the wedding breakfast room.

We decided on white chair covers and sashes for the wedding breakfast room as the shoot was all about the venue, and we wanted to keep everything a neutral as possible. However, we decided to go for lace sashes to add texture to the chairs and make them subtly stand out from the chair covers. A soft pink table runner and beautiful floral centrepieces were added to the tables, which were provided by L’homme de Fleurs. The overall style of the wedding room was very soft and fresh looking with the large windows letting in lots of natural light, which showed off the wedding decor beautifully.

We styled another room downstairs which had a beautiful original fireplace that we decorated in natural greenery with a few flowers added in for some colour. The lovely Reena from Bee and the Bear Bakes set up beautiful giant balloons and her three amazing cakes she had designed for the shoot. We had lots of fun in this room taking pictures of the bride and groom and bridesmaids with the cake and balloons. Lots of great opportunities for photos with the props and beautiful features of the room such as the fire place, doorways and windows.

The stunning bridal ware was provided by the lovely Toni at Lief bridal, and the hair and makeup artist for the day was the very talented Gemma from Make-up and fireplace Hair by Gemma. The younger bridesmaids looked adorable in their dresses and hair pieces from Hannah Belle Hair Accessories. The bride looked absolutely stunning in her chosen dress and veil and jewellery (provided by Element Bespoke Jewellery), with beautiful makeup and hair style complete with real flowers.

Another room in the house was styled brilliantly with large light up LOVE letters and additional lights (supplied by L’homme de Fleurs), which were used as a back drop for more bride and groom shots. We also moved the cakes and balloons into this room to add in some more great props for the shoot.

There were two beautiful stair cases in the house which just had to be used in the photo shoot! One of the stair cases was left bare and the other I styled with lots of glass jars, candles, floating candles, glass stones and greenery (provided by L’homme de Fleurs) . The stair case looked stunning with this added wedding decor and gave it a very grand feel which fitted with the overall feel of the house. Some beautiful shots were taken on the stairs and the huge window at the top of the stair case let in lots of gorgeous natural light just to add that perfect finishing touch.

I had such an amazing time on the shoot and got to meet and work with some very talent suppliers in the industry, which I will be recommending to all my future clients……..
